What were you fighting for? What was your ‘why’?

"Many times I saw the ad for Alta and always wanted to try out but a severe injury to both shoulders held me back. A million questions in my mind 'Can I do this ?'. 2020 Covid hit, and I put on 20 kg in lockdown, at the end of 2020 I said to my husband "I'm doing it". I was 87.8 kg , mum of three, recovering injury and thought I'll go to tryout and have a go. I did it, loved it, paid and off I went. I made a commitment to see out 20 weeks and never not show up, never snooze my alarm at 4 am and hoping I could stick to it. It was tough when you're overweight, but it's also tough being overweight doing nothing either. I missed 3 days out of the whole 20 weeks due to appointments and I outlasted alot of people before me to end up 1 of 3 that WON their Alta transformation. I did the fight at the end and I still cannot believe I did it, but it has made me so mentally strong. I never procrastinate anymore, I say I'll do something and I do it. Just gotta keep showing up no matter the injury no matter the brain telling you to sleep in. Ignore it and get it done."

What did you get out of the program physically?

"I always used to say there's not enough time in the day to fit things in but not true. I got up at 4am everyday and had time to train, shower, work a full-time job, go to gym at night for an hour and make time for family."

What were some of the mental and emotional outcomes you experienced?

"I lost 13 kgs by the fight, have more to go before I'm where I want to be but I know I can do it."

What did you learn about yourself?

"No one is going to get you up and make you go. There's no excuses to not go, just do it."

Did Warrior Training lead to any long term changes in your life, and if so what were they?

"Long term I know how tough I am mentally, physically. It changed my mindset."

What would you say to someone thinking about starting the Warrior Training Program?

"Just go to the tryout it's free, you can do it no matter age, race, gender, physical status or circumstance."
