What were you fighting for? What was your ‘why’?

"My journey began after my 3rd child. I had 3 children in 3 years. I was at the time a full time stay at home mother and wife. Life was chaotic to say the least. I love being a mum and wouldn't change how quickly my family grew. Even the 1am spew and nappy changes between 3 toddlers. Then there came a morning where I woke with an urge to do something for myself. I felt that I needed to do something for myself, something to challenge me and helped me grow. I wanted something that was purely mine. I started working out to lose the post baby weight but there was no real driving force or purpose to go towards. That's when I found the Alta program. I was petrified to sign up, but the excitement and challenge far outweighed the fear."

What did you get out of the program physically?

"Physically I've never been more fit in my life. I could have challenged my fit 21 year old self and demolished her. I love that I had a 6 pack post 3 babies but it was the confidence that backed the new physical appearance which was the ultimate highlight for me."

What were some of the mental and emotional outcomes you experienced?

"Emotionally I was challenged to really push through the hard times. This has assisted me post the Warrior Program immensely. I now know the importance of perseverance and drive and am able to pass these amazing lessons onto my children. To be matched up with one of the most fit, athletically talented young women who had the ability to train extra and concentrate just on the fight program was a real head game. I had to really dig deep to my why, and constantly vision myself getting my hand raised. Eliminating those doubtful moments while managing a household and other personal circumstances showed me how powerful my mind can be. I am so grateful to this program because it's shaped the woman I am today."

What did you learn about yourself?

"That no matter what life throws at you, you have the ability to get through it. You just have to make the decision to do it and take one step at a time and surround yourself with the right people who will support you."

Did Warrior Training lead to any long term changes in your life, and if so what were they?

"I have been able to keep the weight off and train consistently with BJJ with Legacy and obtain my blue belt under professor Thiago Braga. I've been able to compete at competitions and constantly challenging myself physically and mentally. I'm not scared to try anything anymore. If anything I'm more fearful of not going for it now because I know the journey and outcome brings such fulfilment to my life."

What would you say to someone thinking about starting the Warrior Training Program?

"You won't regret it. The 5am starts, the sweat, the tears and breakdowns. They all contribute to creating a version of you that seems impossible but not. The cage fight is the cherry on the top but when you meet coaches and people who are on similar journeys, you find lifetime friendships and an experience that you will treasure forever."
