In 1925 Carlos Gracie established the first Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Brazil. Following in his Grandfather's foot steps Charles Gracie moved to America to continue spreading the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, opening the first Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Daly City, CA in 1997.
To accommodate the expansion of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Charles Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Tracy was established in 2005. Not only is the Tracy location one of the largest martial arts academies in California, but it is also the national headquarters for the entire Charles Gracie Association.
