Beginners Guide to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Ju Jitsu) or BJJ is a form of Mixed Martial Arts that focuses more on an individual’s skill level rather than their strength. Jiu-Jitsu is a form of self-defense which teaches participants survival techniques. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is centered around the concept of ‘gentle fighting’ whereby the aim is to get your opponent to the ground without causing harm, but rather forcing submission.
