What were you fighting for? What was your ‘why’?

"I did the program mainly for my children, I was extremely overweight and I couldn’t keep up with my children. My second reason for doing it was for myself, again being overweight and I constantly had people telling me I needed to lose weight that I looked awful and that I used to be so thin and lovely. It had a huge impact on my mental health constantly having people tell me I looked disgusting. My whole life I had such negative people around me so doing this I had such positive people around me and it made me feel so much better in myself not only was I losing weight but I was also gaining confidence something I never had, but I was also repairing my mental health. I also had a crappy upbringing but again being in SBG Cork the coaches really helped me heal all those wounds I had, I really can’t thank and recommend this program enough."

What did you get out of the program physically?

"I started at 116kg and my final weigh in I was 102kg so I think that speaks for itself on how much I gained from this experience and it wasn’t weight lol."

Don’t think about it just do it, I promise you won’t regret it, it is the best thing you will ever do. I’m a mom of three under three so if I can do it so can you.

What were some of the mental and emotional outcomes you experienced?

"It really helped my mental health doing this program I had a lot of issues going in and I had a lot less coming out. I feel so much more confident in myself now."

What did you learn about yourself?

"I learned that if I put in the work I get the results."

Did Warrior Training lead to any long term changes in your life, and if so what were they?

I lost a lot of weight doing the program but I still have more to lose so I’ve actually signed up for another year again, that’s how much I loved it. I definitely didn’t think I would do the fight but I did. When it came to my fight I didn’t have anyone to fight but I had a world silver medalist step up and get on the mats so I got a fight so not many people can say they fought a person with such a title for their finale, I was honoured to fight her it was a great experience. Not only did I do my finale I actually fought a week later up the country. I loved the whole experience from start to finish."

What would you say to someone thinking about starting the Warrior Training Program?

"Don’t think about it just do it, I promise you won’t regret it, it is the best thing you will ever do. I’m a mom of three under three so if I can do it so can you."
